Take a moment to complete with last week’s theme of Life Force, and prepare to welcome the wisdom of Light for Week 7.
Light is one of 12 essential themes for guidance and growth in my book and deck, Seeds of Wisdom. We’ll use our basic rhythm for exploring each week’s theme: read… reflect… respond… Four possible practices are included for illuminating the wisdom of Light in your life.
Be sure to download this week’s companion workbook if you’d like to special place to write about your encounters with Light. Of course, your journal works great, too! Here’s the link: https://www.eastlycreative.com/s/LightWorkbook.pdf
Awareness, illumination, understanding…
These are the archetypal associations with the theme of Light. Notice that you actually need light to perceive the image and text below!
Read…
a brief excerpt on the theme
What we commonly call light is really a small swath of visible energy within a much larger spectrum of electromagnetic energy that permeates the universe.
Photons, acting like particles traveling in waves, speed from the sun to the Earth at the incredible velocity of about 300 million meters per second. Per second! This speed of light is the constant (c) that balances Einstein’s famous equation, E=mc(2), which establishes the interchangeability of energy and matter.
Matter is energy. Light is energy. Light is matter. Matter is light. You are light.
Light is the source of life on Earth. Every material thing is actually energy. Every “thing” is really light dancing in the prism of perception.
The wisdom of Light is to release labels like good and bad, and focus on our shared source. Then you can experience life with delight.
Keywords for Light
illusion vs. awareness; clarity; matter = energy;
divine love; essential truth; shared source;
power and limits of perception
Reflect…
in meditation and in writing
What lights up inside when you see the image and read the text?
Reflect — in meditation and in writing — on your personal understanding of Light. What does Light mean to you?
For your meditation on Light, perhaps you’d like to light a candle or consider how a prism splits light into the many hues of the rainbow. Let yourself really notice your eyes and your other senses as sacred instruments of perception.
Respond…
by placing symbols on your altar
What symbolizes your understanding of Light? What can you place on your altar that connects you with your sense of Light as a real phenomenon and as an archetype?
If you have the Seeds of Wisdom cards, you may want to place the Light card on your altar. If you don’t have the cards, you are welcome to print the image above and use that.
Over the next week, let yourself pause at your altar frequently and discover how the theme of Light shows its wisdom for you.
Possible Practices
for exploring the theme
Here are some possible practices for exploring the theme of Light. Keep in mind, these are optional! It’s entirely up to you how much time and space you want to dedicate to this process:
Practice 1 — Savor the Light
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants capture sunlight and package it into sugar molecules. When we eat, we are unpacking the sunlight from sugar. At your next meal, become aware that you are literally eating light!Practice 2 — Remember Our Shared Source
All people rely on the same source light (the sun) for life. We all come from the same evolutionary Source. Remember this when you encounter people who disagree with you.Practice 3 — Play with Point of View
Think about a situation in your life. What are five points of view you could have about this situation? Consciously choose the most empowering point of view.Practice 4 — Experiment with Color
All the colors we can perceive are a unique frequencies within the spectrum of visible light. Experiment with wearing different colors. Notice how these colors affect your energy.
Completion
toward the end of next week
Let your process with Light come to a close as you approach the end of next week.
Use your journal to take notes on your experience with the theme. Take a photo of your altar if you like.
Next Sunday you will receive an email introducing the next theme. Be sure to clear your altar to mark your completion with the theme of Light.
May your process with Light illuminate your inner wisdom.
