Seven Facets of the Sacred Feminine

A 9-month journey with
goddesses from many traditions

This course has been cancelled due to low enrollment. If the course appeals to you, please let me know via email and I will set a future date.

Goddess energy has been interwoven into the fabric of my life for nearly thirty years. Over the years, I have called on Her by Her many names — during times of need and times of celebration, in times of gratitude and times of grief. (You can read a bit about that in this story.)

It is my great honor to share with you a special journey to explore seven facets of the sacred feminine through a nine-month journey with goddesses from many traditions:

  • January — initiatory convening

  • February — Brigid (Celtic)

  • March — Gaia (Greek)

  • April — Diana (Roman)

  • May — Oshun (Yoruban)

  • June —Hathor (Egyptian)

  • July — Lakshmi (Hindu)

  • August — Inanna (Sumerian)

  • September — final integration

I say facets of the sacred feminine, rather than faces, as I see Source energy refracted through the prisms of practice and place into a multiplicity of divine Presences or deities. These deities are revered within and through specific traditions, but they do not limit their grace only to practitioners or priestesses of those traditions. Please note that as a facilitator, I do not seek to represent these traditions. Rather, the course material is sourced in my own ritual encounters, research, and personal practices with these specific goddesses. Whenever possible throughout the course, I will refer participants to initiated priestesses of particular traditions for further exploration.

Each month will focus on a specific goddess. Additionally, the course itself, the initiatory convening, and the final integration will be guided by the goddess Iris, who is one of the namesakes of Gold + Iris.

The course format and other logistics are below. For some background on why the goddesses of the world are needed at this time, please see this recent Full Moon newsletter.

Course Format

Click/tap each item below for details:

  • January: Initiatory Convening
We begin our nine-month journey in January with an initiatory convening in which we will contain and sanctify our shared space.

February through August: Each month is devoted to a goddess
We will gather once a month to explore the lore, affinities, symbols, and practices of the month’s focal goddess and to experience a sacred encounter to meet Her. Over the next three weeks after each monthly gathering, you’ll receive guidance for a three-part deepening process involving research, ritual, and reflection.

    September: Final Integration
We will complete our journey in a final integration ritual.

  • Over the three weeks after each monthly gathering, you’ll receive guidance for a three-part deepening process involving research, ritual, and reflection.

Week 1: Research — You will do your own research on the month’s focal goddess. I will provide some direction and recommended readings.

Week 2: Ritual — I will provide an outline for a ritual working to help you connect more deeply with the month’s focal goddess, or you may design your own.

Week 3: Reflection — You will be asked to generate and share some form of creative output that reflects your engagement with the month’s focal goddess. This can be in any medium or any format, but it is an important contribution to your own and the entire cohort’s learning.

  • Throughout our nine-month journey, you will be paired with a partner to share a weekly 10-minute phone call.

Partners will rotate each month so that you have an opportunity to connect directly with as many members of your cohort as possible.

  • We will be using Signal for community dialog. Signal is a messaging app that offers more security and privacy than other apps of its kind.

This is the place to share about your weekly practices, especially your reflection practice.
